Navigating Grief while Living Life
Grief Coaching and Education for individuals and organizations seeking sustainable ways to navigate grief without burning out.
Grief shows up in ways that aren’t always obvious
You just don't feel like yourself
You're "functioning," but underneath it you feel numb, stuck, or far away from your own life
Time has passed from the time of loss and no one is talking about it anymore, but you need to
You want to let yourself actually feel it — but you don't know how, or you're worried what will happen if you do
You're not broken.
You're grieving.
When you welcome grief, your capacity for love and connection expands.

Hi there, I’m Marialicia and I’m so glad you’re here!
My childhood friend died suddenly when I was 15, and then another friend at 18, my brother-in-law when I was 19, and then my best friend when I was 20. I felt like the world was crashing down around me.
Death wasn’t for the old.
It was for me.
Even though I was in a kind and loving family, no one talked about it. My mom didn’t want me to go to my friend’s funeral, “because I don’t want you to be sad.”
But I was so sad.
So confused.
So lost.
Over the last 30 years of working with birth (as a midwife) through death (as a palliative and hospice nurse), in addition to giving birth and being present for the death of both of my parents, I have lived the wild interconnectedness of birth and death and everything in between.
In 2016 I co-founded the literary grief non-profit, Grief Rites Foundation, amplifying the voices of grief through storytelling, because grief needs witnessing.
It’s a natural, healthy, and vital part of life; one that is terminally ignored in our culture.
Working together, you’ll find the gold in your grief, you’ll feel buoyed and informed by it, pointing you towards a full and integrated life.
